LIKE DANDELION DUST EARNS AWARD AT LOS ANGELES UNITED FILM FESTIVAL
LOS ANGELES, CA (May 12, 2010) -- Like Dandelion Dust, a new film starring Academy Award® winner, Mira Sorvino, Golden Globe Nominee, Barry Pepper and Cole Hauser, has been honored with the "Jury Award" for a feature length narrative at the 2010 Los Angeles United Film Festival. From April 29th - May 6, 2010, over 70 films were screened at the Los Feliz 3 Cinemas in Los Angeles, CA.
Based on the novel by New York Times best-selling author Karen Kingsbury, Like Dandelion Dust is a compelling drama that shows how a couple's idyllic life is shattered when their adopted son’s biological parents find a loophole in the adoption papers. The film explores the different meanings of being a parent through the grittily realistic lives of the struggling, blue-collar Porter family, and the privileged Campbell family. Their lives intersect, intertwine and collide, all for the love of a little boy.
Opening September 2010 nationwide, Like Dandelion Dust is already the recipient of more than 20 national and international film festival awards, including:
• Las Vegas Film Festival (Audience Award for Best Feature, Grand Jury Best Feature, Best Actor for Barry Pepper)
• Heartland Film Festival (Audience Choice for Best Dramatic Feature)
• Vail Film Festival (Audience Choice for Best Feature)
• Sedona International Film Festival (Best Feature Jury Award)
• San Diego Film Festival (Best Actress for Mira Sorvino)
• Cinema City International Film Festival (Best Feature Jury Award)

Like Dandelion Dust (100 Minutes), starring Mira Sorvino, Barry Pepper, Cole Hauser, Kate Levering, and Maxwell Perry Cotton, is directed by Jon Gunn, and produced by Kevin Downes Bobby Downes, and Kerry David. Executive produced by Chris Morrow and Geoff Ludlow. Karen Kingsbury's book was adapted for the big screen by Academy Award® nominated screenwriter Stephen J. Rivele (Ali, Nixon).
